9. What qualities do you have that would make you a good candidate for this career?
I have a loud voice. like to help people and answer questions. Love being around people on a daily basis and im not a shy person.
8. Are there any extracurricular activities that could help prepare you for a career?
Helping teachers in work experience around the school ect.
7. Are there any volunteer opportunities that you could take part in to enhance your career opportunities?
Volunteering at my local library with the reading Program that goes on in the summer and going to volunteer at the Hospital.
6. What part time and summer work would actually be beneficial in working towards this career?
5. What are some other jobs that are closely related to your chosen career that might also interest you?
Related careers is an Art Instructor, Career and Technology studies teacher, College, Technical or Vocational Instructor, Elementatry school teacher, Environmental education specialist, Geographer, Instructional Designer, Private Trainer/ Facilitator, and Special Needs Teacher.
4. How long does the training last before you can actually enter into the career?
To be a teacher i would need 4 years of training.
3. Where would you go to get trained for this career? Do you have to go to a college/university/trade school?
To get experience can be obtained from playground supervision, day care work, hospital volunteering, amateur sports coaching, teacher assistant work, and working with youth in organized groups. All this exprience will loook good on a University appucation.
2. Pre-planning. What should you be doing as a grade ten student to get ready for this career? What high school courses do you need to have?
As a grade ten student i would have to get accepted into the University of Calgary by graduating Highschool with English Language Arts 30-1; one of the following: Pure or Applied Math 30, Math 31, or a 30-level language other than English; and three of the following: Biology 30, Chemistry 30, Physics 30, Social Studies 30, Science 30 or one other five credit Grade 12 subject. I would also need good working habbits and would have to enjoy working with teenagers and have patients.
1. The name of the career. What are you going to be doing?
My dream career today is to be a Teacher ( i say today because I have changed my mind over a million times give or take a couple.) I would be teaching teens in hopefully English and Physics. I would give every hour i could to make sure i had they next day plans ready. Mark and comment on all assignments they day i get them handed to me. Have test ready weeks in advance so i know what to have to teach them so they can Ace the test.
